One of the most difficult things to do is start. Starting a newsletter, even more. Not because its hard to sit down and write. But sit down and go through the recesses of your mind. The unconscious and conscious meeting on the bridge of despair and churn out some ideas.
I have been thinking about how to start (I am hoping to go a long way with this newsletter, actually). So yesterday was the day to start. But yesterday went thinking and choosing topics. I ended up choosing the topic which would basically define the newsletter: A meta-newsletter about the newsletter. You could say it would introduce the basic tenets the newsletter would live by.
Why this?
Well, for anything to exist, at least in the human realm, it should have a philosophy as a foundation on which all events would occur for its development and growth.
These tenets would help me stay true to what I intend to write and share about so I don’t get lost in the publishing rabbit-hole and come back to this whenever I feel like I need it. So. Here goes.
Basic tenets of this newsletter
Originality: For me, first important aspect of this is originality. There are myriads of written material over the Internet for people to value. But what value can I add to the world? What am I an expert of? What can I do which no one else can do?
Myself.
A wise man once said (which I read of course),
Do what you can do which no one else in your place can do.
This I studied as a part of my career-seeking journey. Now I have a similar version to this after some years of experience:
Do what you want to do with whatever you have at hand instead of crying like an asshole.
Style: Instead of looking at how and what others are writing about, I would crave my own path and write like I write. My style would be free in the sense that the information I want to convey to the readers would be given more importance.
Limitless topics: I don’t like to have “boxed” thinking patterns where we categorize things into boxes. This newsletter would cover whatever new things I learn and share with the readers giving my best possible thinking to it.
So these were the basic tenets for the newsletter (that I could think of). Actually I had more but forgot while writing. :P
Thanks for reading and subscribe to our newsletter.
